Gene Hardman started 20 years ago in 1989, this relationship has past the test of time through the thick and the thin, careers have been built around this relationship, including his and mine, and Apex is truly a more valuable company because of it. A friend once told me that the genuine test of the value of an employee is, “Would you take 10 more just like him?” You bet I would!!! He hauled 103 pre-measured loads, although the loads were pre-measured, he kept his communication constant with dispatch allowing us to forward the necessary documentation to our sales and billing departments in a timely manner. This information is very important to the bottom line, and we recognize him for that.

He loaded 65 loads, instead of loading to 79,500, knowing that a heavier truck would be making the deliveries, he communicated with the other driver, he calculated the max the heavier truck could haul and loaded accordingly, always adjusting and recording all the axle weights on the paperwork as a courtesy to his fellow employees, this always impressed me.
